I’m Tara and I’m excited you’re here.

My last name isn’t Meraki. It's actually Roskowski (which is never pronounced correctly and hard to spell for others). So, as I was trying to name my business I came across the word “Meraki” and the meaning really explains why I love photography:

“to do something with soul, creativity, or love; to put something of yourself in your work”

What is important to you on your wedding day is just as important to me on your wedding day. I put all of my creative self into making images that I know would be meaningful to you. And that reason, my friend, is why I named my business after this fabulous word. It encapsulates my feelings towards photography perfectly.

I’m a wedding photographer based in Philadelphia. South Philly to be specific. ;)

Being in this centralized location gives me the opportunity to easily work around the region in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. So, wherever your wedding is taking place just know I’m not that far from it.

My posing style & philosophy goes a little something like this: Photographing moments truly are appreciated when it is, in fact, a ‘moment’. I believe in the candid storytelling of your day. If you don’t want to spend the majority of your wedding day in front of a camera being posed or directed then consider my approach and style for your wedding. You can just enjoy your day with each other and those around you while I remain present capturing the connections you have with them as they come.

My work is heavily inspired by making subtle moments into art.

I do this by being present and fully aware during your entire wedding day. Making images of real moments as they happen without you even knowing the photo was taken; a mothers tearful face when zipping up the wedding dress, the loving look you two give each other while you think no one is watching, laughing with your friends where you can almost hear it through the image  – those images get me all fuzzy inside.

Why am I different than other photographers?

    I will be hands off allowing the both of you to enjoy your wedding day while I am looking for those meaningful interactions and connections with the people that are surrounding you as if no cameras were there. I am there through all of the moments. Unintrusive. As it happens. Aside from any time you want for any formal grouping photos with family + friends and/or some time for portraits of the two of you, I will happily be a fly on the wall not telling you what to do or how to live your wedding day. Just real. I want your day to feel real.

    I strongly focus on what is going on around me. I feel the emotions in the room. I am intuitive to how your moments are forming and progressing. Anticipating unexpected moments. I am aware of the importance of even the smallest interactions. I capture the moment in front of me until it runs its course and then I am on to the next moment as it comes along. I intently create an image to reflect what truly is evolving in front of my camera.

    My goal is to create a relaxed atmosphere to ensure that I am able to capture the most authentic version of you and your love story. To do that, I try to blend in the background and become the “fly on the wall” so that you and others don't get caught up in the fact that a camera is there. So that the moments stay natural with each other. Authentic interactions that showcase your true connections.

WHAT IS THE "ONLINE GALLERY" YOU MENTION IN YOUR COLLECTIONS?

All of your wedding images will be housed in a secure online website that is protected by a password for you to access. You can share the password with any of your family or friends as well to view your wedding images. You will be able to download your images immediately upon me delivering it to you. Your online gallery also has a store where you and your loved ones can purchase prints, wall art of many sizes and even thank you cards.

Can I see a full gallery of a recent wedding you’ve photographed?

You absolutely can! I actually highly recommend you review multiple full wedding galleries from me or any other photographer you are seeking for your day. You will be able to understand the style of shooting, how an entire day unfolds and can start to envision how your wedding gallery would look.

How many weddings have you photographed

I have been honored to have photographed over 200 weddings. Even writing that number out has my mind blown. And the remarkable thing is, is that I can remember each of those weddings as if they just happened last weekend. Having seen 200+ weddings in action really has given me an exceptional amount of knowledge in the industry. I am fully ready to use my experience to ensure your wedding coverage is exactly what you hoped for.

Do you have any experience working at our wedding venue?

I have worked at many different wedding venues from all over the east coast. Beach ceremony? Yes. Dark cathedral churches? Yes. Backyard tented receptions? Yes. Small intimate restaurants? Yes. Large spacious ballrooms? Yes. No matter if I’ve worked at your venue or not, I can assure you that with all of my experience I will be able to photograph any venue or situation I am in with ease.

HOW LONG AFTER THE WEDDING WILL WE RECEIVE OUR PHOTOS?

I deliver the final edited photos within 4-6 weeks after the wedding day. However, I always deliver a few sneak peeks to you within a few days to hold you both over while in anticipation.

How many photos do you get in a wedding package?

This will vary for how many hours you book me for. Other factors may be on how many guests are in attendance, family groupings, duration of portraits, duration of ceremony and the amount of formalities you may plan for your reception. It might be safe to suggest that anywhere between 50-100 images an hour. A typical 8 hour wedding includes close to 600+ images. Again, it matters on how many unique variables your wedding day will have.
